Taos, New Mexico:
Taos is a great little city. It's quaint, friendly and has that old western flair! The architecture of the buildings are fabulous! The dwellings take you back to an era of the Spanish Conquistadors....heading out of Taos, you take a wonderous drive through Carson National Forrest.
Motorcyclists have a great time on these winding roads and steep grades! My daughter Kim and her husband John were enjoying the ride and their 2nd anniversary! While driving through the mountains of CNF, me and part of my favorite crew, decided to stop and check the streams. John just had a minor surgery and was going to attempt the crossing...we advised against it! I on the other hand love crossing streams this way!!
As you come into Eagles Nest, New Mexico, off in the distance, you can also see the mountains and ski slopes of Angel Fire, New Mexico.
Leaving Eagles Nest, we come into Cimarron Canyon State Park. These shear rock walls are called the Palisades. On any given day you may see a few adventurous souls attempting to climb the Palisades!
Well, back on to the interstate and headin' fer home.....but , oh what a glorious ending to a wonderful, beautiful and endearing day with my favorite crew! A message from the heavens!

Outdoor Adventure: World Class Outfitting Adventures:
Selway, Idaho ~ Bitterroot Wilderness
We would like to take a moment of your time to introduce one of the United States' best wilderness hunting
opportunities in the legendary Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness of Idaho.
World Class Outfitting Adventures operates in Idaho's largest licensed outfitting area of nearly 300 square miles with
12 reserved camps ranging from 10 to 22 miles within the wilderness. The only access to these camps is by mule power
or by foot power!
We conduct trophy hunts for elk, whitetail and mule deer, color-phase black bear, and mountain lion. We also offer
summer adventure pack trips for fishing, photography and sight-seeing.
There is no region in the Lower 48 that can offer a more remote wilderness experience. The inaccessibility to this area
leads to low hunting pressure, outstanding resident elk herds, terrific bull-cow ratios, and virtually undisturbed wildlife
and habitat.
We take pride at World Class Outfitting Adventures in knowing that outfitting is our sole business. This being our only
livelihood, we realize that our commitment to customer satisfaction must be our first priority.
If you've been waiting for the perfect opportunity for a world class adventure, wait no more. World Class Outfitting
Adventures has the trip for you, whether it be hunting elk, deer, cougar or bear, or overlooking miles of untouched
wilderness from a breathtaking mountain pass while leisurely placing your favorite dry fly inches from that last rise.
Each trip will feature campfire cuisine as well as knowledgeable, friendly cooks, guides and wranglers who know how
to make your trip a pleasure you will never forget. Our trips are full service . . . just bring your personal gear . . . sit
back and be prepared to enjoy some of the most pristine as well as primitive areas in the Lower 48. Welcome to the
Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness of Idaho.
Survival Tip:Food:
You can die in as little as three weeks without
food. But most people, in fact, can live much
longer without eating. Sure, pack a little extra
food, but keep the more critical factors foremost in
mind..
We'll have more tips on how to purify water in the wilderness......coming up!!
Until next time: Be Safe ~ Be Happy!!

A friend in Australia:
Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from
Down Under. It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia
were forced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be
destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia
taxpayers more than $500 million dollars. The first year results are now in:
- Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent
- Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent
- Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent!)
- In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent
(Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the
criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!)
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in
armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the
past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the
elderly. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public
safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in
"successfully ridding Australian society of guns." You won't see this data
on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the
state Assembly disseminating this information. The Australian experience
proves it.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and,
yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.
*Take note Americans, before it's too late!*

Deep breathing can help you fall asleep:
Breathing deeply and rhythmically can ease muscle tension, lower your
heart rate, and help you fall asleep faster. Lie down on the carpet or
in or on your bed with your feet shoulder-width apart. (If you're
uncomfortable lying on your back, rest on your side with a pillow
between your legs for support instead. In this position, you may not
be able to breathe as deeply.) With your mouth closed, breathe slowly
through your nose, feeling your stomach rise as you gradually fill
your diaphragm and lungs with air. Hold for one second before exhaling
through your nose to the count of four.
NOTE: Always follow the advice of your Physician!
Coxsackie virus:
Coxsackie gets its name from Coxsackie, New York, the city where the
virus was first identified. The virus (actually a group of viruses) --
commonly known as hand, foot, and mouth disease -- usually strikes
children between the ages of 2 and 6, but babies are susceptible, too.
It's highly contagious and is easily transmitted through coughing and
sneezing. Not surprisingly, outbreaks are common in group care
situations. Though the virus is uncomfortable, it's not at all
serious. Unfortunately, a child is most contagious in the week before
symptoms appear, so it can be hard to anticipate or prevent.
Typically, the incubation period is three to six days. Though you may
just have to wait out the seven days it typically takes for the virus
to subside, you can make your baby more comfortable. Try giving him
acetaminophen drops according to your doctor's recommendation.
Teething gel, such as Anbusol, may also relieve your baby's pain. To
avoid dehydration, keep offering breast milk or formula, or water and
diluted juice for an older baby. A toddler may enjoy a Popsicle, which
will provide fluids and soothe the sores.
NOTE! Always check with and follow the advice of your physician!!

For the parent and teacher it is a great help knowing, in confidence that the children

For the home-user, the ability to protect any file means NO VIRUS can transfer itself
across/within application or alter/destroy data. Virus Proof! No one can

GOLDEN CHEESIES:
These savory cheese rolls make a delicious (and attractive) appetizer.
Or, you can cut them in smaller pieces after they bake, and they're
great snacks. Serves 16.
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup sour cream, at room temperature
- seasoned salt
- pepper
- 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese paprika
Combine flour, butter, and sour cream in a medium bowl. Mix well.
Divide into four portions. Wrap in waxed paper or plastic wrap; chill
until firm.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll out dough a quarter at a time on a
well-floured surface into a 12-inch by 6-inch rectangle. Sprinkle
rectangle with seasoned salt and pepper, then with 3/4 cup cheese.
Starting with 12-inch side, roll up like a jelly roll. Press together
edges and seams to seal.
Place seam side down on ungreased cookie sheet. Cut rolls halfway
through at 1-inch intervals. Sprinkle with paprika. Bake 30 to 35
minutes, until golden brown.
So until next time, REMEMBER: Anarchy is better than no government at all....
